Enable API Endpoint Extraction for Native Agents

I would like to suggest a feature enhancement for Watsonx Orchestrate Native Agents. Currently, it is not possible to directly extract the API endpoint of a native agent, which limits integration options with other services such as Watsonx Assistant or custom middleware.

Proposed Feature:

  • Enable API endpoint generation or extraction for Native Agents, similar to what is available for External Agents.

  • Allow direct use of this endpoint with standard HTTP requests (e.g., cURL, Postman) for query execution.

  • Maintain existing security and authentication mechanisms (API key, OAuth) for safe access.

Benefit:

  • Simplifies integration workflows for developers and organizations.

  • Reduces the need for complex workarounds or middleware.

  • Improves adoption and usability of Native Agents in real world applications.

I believe it would significantly enhance the flexibility and usability of Watsonx Orchestrate Native Agents.

    Are you aware that we have APIs for interacting directly with Agents?

    I believe that will meet your needs. If it does not, please re open this idea with more specific details about why this does not work.
