How to get IBM Watsonx Orchestrate deployed on edge device or an SNO with minimal hardware footprint?

Hello, we are using IBM Watsonx Orchestrate (wxo) for many defense and aerospace and industrial clients. For most of them edge solution is super important. However with current design wxo needs openshift and especially an ODF with an enormous hardware footprint. This makes it difficult to deploy the product at the edge. With the current design wxo needs to be installed on the cloud or on Fusion Box on-prem which both have their demerits. Cloud is so compliant from defense point of view and Fusion is very expensive. Moreover, the latency is comparatively higher than the edge. So, it would be great if we get two variants of wxo -- one with larger footprint as is now and one with a smaller footprint which can be installed on edge.

Can we use a persistent volume instead of ODF to install or may be wxo on a SNO to reduce the footprint and then use the small language model (SLM) through AI gateway which can run on a smaller GPU and thereby we can get wxo/agentic workflow running at the edge?
