The idea is to enhance watsonx Orchestrate so it can directly connect to any external agent without requiring strict protocol compliance (like chat‑completions or A2A).

This enhancement is useful because it removes a major integration barrier between watsonx Orchestrate and external agent

Most existing external agents expose REST APIs with custom request and response formats, which are not directly compatible with the strict protocol-based interfaces (such as chat-completions or A2A) required by Orchestrate today.

By enabling flexible request/response mapping, Orchestrate can directly integrate with these agents, significantly simplifying the integration process and accelerating adoption.
