Childcare capacity and ratio incident detector

Problem: A March 2026 routine inspection caught 12 children in a room licensed for 10 three-to-four-year-olds — corrected on the spot by moving one child and sending another home. Ratio violations that are caught are lucky ones; most happen between inspections.

Idea: A watsonx Orchestrate monitoring agent that combines daily attendance logs with room assignments and licensed capacities to detect ratio and capacity exceedances in real time, alerting the director the moment a room goes over — and giving regulators an honest incident log instead of relying on catching violations during annual visits.

Value: Children are never in an over-capacity room for long; honest operators get a system that catches the mistake the inspector would have found months later.
