Shape the future of IBM watsonx Orchestrate

Start by searching and reviewing ideas others have posted, and add a comment (private if needed), vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you.

If you can't find what you are looking for, create a new idea:

  1. stick to one feature enhancement per idea

  2. add as much detail as possible, including use-case, examples & screenshots (put anything confidential in Hidden details field or a private comment)

  3. Explain business impact and timeline of project being affected

[For IBMers] Add customer/project name, details & timeline in Hidden details field or a private comment (only visible to you and the IBM product team).

This all helps to scope and prioritize your idea among many other good ones. Thank you for your feedback!

LOAD-RIDER — Computational-load ride-through modeling agent for FERC RD26-7-000 readiness

LOAD-RIDER — Computational-load ride-through modeling agent for FERC RD26-7-000 readiness

Problem: Large computational loads disconnect during grid disturbances — roughly 1,500 MW of data-center load dropped in Northern Virginia, and more than 3 GW vanished from PJM in July 2026 when data centers switched to backup power. Utilities still plan with static load assumptions because they have no behavioral models of these loads. FERC's July 16, 2026 Order RD26-7-000 now directs NERC to file reliability standards for computational loads and require registration of computational load entities by December 31, 2026 — a compliance clock utilities must meet with evidence they do not currently have.

Idea: Add a watsonx Orchestrate agent that maintains ride-through behavior models for every connected computational load (how each facility responds to voltage sags, frequency deviations, and transmission faults), simulates disturbance scenarios against planned interconnections, flags load entities approaching NERC registration criteria, and assembles the evidence packs utilities will need under the new standards. Human operator review gates every model-driven curtailment recommendation — the agent prepares the reliability case; operators and NERC-registered entities make the call.

Value: Utilities face the December 31, 2026 standards deadline with evidence instead of guesswork, disturbance modeling replaces surprise multi-gigawatt disconnections, and grid planners, regulators, and load operators finally share a common behavioral language for computational loads.
