SAP HCM integration

A lot of customers are transitioning from legacy HR systems, like SAP HCM, to newer ones (SuccessFactors). Since these transitions take normally years they are blocking the real usage of watsonx Orchestrate in the meantime.

With an build-in integration we would also support the customers who are not ready to move to SuccessFactors yet.

This topic aroung wxo and SAP HCM is popping up more and more and deserves a closer look from our dev team. SAP HCM is a dinosaur with fullstack HR functionality except talent management. It as an incompatible API stack when you want to talk to wxo, on the SAP end ABAP/BAPI and on our end OAuth2 and REST. Creating ootb wxo skills interfacing with SAP HCM PT, PY and PA would be benefitial for providing a self service virtual assistant for all CM clients out there and would be a major USB against wxo competition like GLEAN. Looking at options, RPA could be one but requires adjustment with every change of the SAP UI5/Fiori GUI.

The usecases in the PoC of one customer are
    - Clock in - Clock out: everything from putting in working hours to reporting
    - Promotion: basically the whole promotion process from nominating someone over gathering information to document the decision and informing the person

Do we have visibility on what HR modules, and use cases these customers are looking forward to? If yes, pls share.
For e.g.- Module:- Time Off, Use Case - a) Time-Off creation, update, view, delete, b) Time-Off reporting etc.

I am aware of two customers who are interested in Wxo and are using SAP HCM. One of them is planning to migrate to SuccessFactors but it might take a while and it will not happen at once. Meaning for a longer time some functions are used from SuccessFactors and some are used from HCM.

I am not aware of any sandbox or testsystem.

    Ok.

    1. What are the use cases? Is there any list?

    2. Do we have any test system or sandbox for the same?

I am sorry, I messed up the last character, SAP HCM is meant.

In the most recent case we are using the AWS Saas version for the PoC but the productive one is planned for the IBM Cloud, due to other dependencies.

Can you please help with below pointers -

    1. Is SAP HCR same as SAP HCM?

    2. What are deployment options available and what is preferred as of now?
