This is the IBM Automation portal for IBM watsonx Orchestrate. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Context
Enterprises looking to adopt gen AI have concerns around transparency of the model being used. The IBV, for one, is replete with data showing hesitancy revolves around things like, what data the FM was trained on, data security, and being able to easily and efficiently customize the base model with proprietary data or knowledge (e.g., fine-tuning or RAG).
GtM opportunity for IBM with wxO + InstructLab (Tuning Studio in general)
BYOM (bring your own model) capabilities would be powerful because of the above context. Companies have hesitancy with deploying gen AI solutions that are rooted in the development phase. When transparency and control of the model being developed is high, the likelihood of deployment is high because the company trusts the model more.
IBM is currently investing heavily in InstructLab specifically because of these concerns. IL drastically lowers barriers to model customization and will continue to do so as the tech gets better. It is currently being implemented in wx Tuning Studio as an additional option for customizing models.
wxO product teams should work with the InstructLab team (e.g., Suhas K. in PM, Ashley P. in Design) to find ways to seamlessly integrate with wxO post training of the base model in InstructLab. wxO already connects to ElasticSearch and Discovery as a way of grounding the model in specific knowledge; IL can be another way without the inferencing costs that come with the other methods.
There are two broad gen AI trends taking place right now — (1) being able to customize a model and (2) agentic systems. IBM is positioned to capture this nascent market that is truly differentiating from competitors.
