Start by searching and reviewing ideas others have posted, and add a comment (private if needed), vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you.

If you can't find what you are looking for, create a new idea:

  1. stick to one feature enhancement per idea

Ability to parse Gen AI output into a structured object

GenAI feature included in workflows is convenient for many use cases but by definition the generated output is always as text. for entity extraction task it would be useful to be able to parse GenAI outputs into a structured e.g JSON object in order to be able to assign each extracted field to variables within the watsonx Orchestrate project.

The goal is to run a decision flow in a subsequent node after a document reader + GenAI node.

In the attached example see output_gen_ai.png , structured output value is a text outputed by GenAI. we need to extract the deriving license first_issue_date and expiry_date and convert it to a date type object for a subsequent decision flow.

    New Gen AI capability has now been delivered in wxO agentic workflows (flows) with ability to output to a structured object
